“I am now focusing on supporting and promoting scaling up of Family Medicine training and practice in Sub Saharan Africa through advocacy and stakeholder engagement using my position as the Founding President of ECSA CFP. This is guided by the global evidence that shows Family Medicine, a primary care specialty as having better health outcomes at lower cost. This is the only way to achieve Universal Health Coverage for better health and wellbeing of people living in Africa, a continent ravaged by high disease burden coupled with limited resources. This calls for efficiency in investment for health, better addressed by health systems that are based on Family Medicine.”
